Privacy policy

Firefly Kids Company (“I”, “me”) is run by Andrea, a pediatric occupational therapist in Burlington, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. It follows Canada’s privacy law (PIPEDA) and anti-spam law (CASL).
What I collect
When you sign up for the free guide or the waitlist: your first name, your email address, the date you agreed to receive emails, and which page you signed up on. That’s all. These forms never ask about your child.
When you send a message through the contact form: your name, email, and whatever you choose to write. The form runs through Hushmail, an encrypted service built for health professionals, so your message is protected in transit and in storage.
When you visit the site: anonymous visit counts through Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and doesn’t build a profile of you.
How I use it
- To send the free guide you asked for.
- To email you about Write with Confidence: when it opens, and occasional practical tips before then.
- To reply to your messages.
I never sell or rent your information, and I don’t share it except with the services below that make the site work.
Services that handle your information
- Kit (email): stores the waitlist and sends emails. Kit is based in the United States, so your name and email are stored there.
- Hushmail (contact form): encrypted form and email service. [Andrea: confirm where your Hushmail account stores data.]
- Cloudflare (hosting and analytics): delivers this website and counts visits anonymously.
- YouTube (videos): videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode and only load when you press play. Thumbnail images load from YouTube’s servers.
- Thinkific (the course): if you enroll, Thinkific handles your account and payment under its own privacy policy.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of every email.
- See, correct or delete the information I hold about you: email andrea@fireflykidsco.ca and I’ll respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is for parents and caregivers. I don’t knowingly collect information from children, and the signup forms never ask about your child.
How long I keep it
Email subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to answer them. [Andrea: confirm your retention practice for Hushmail messages.]
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll update the date at the top of this page.
